High performance Craftsman motor delivers 20.0 volts with 2.2 amps of Lithium-Ion power. (Battery sold separately.) Plenty of power to cut, jab or plunge through plastics, woods and metals. A variable speed, heavy-duty all metal machined gear box provides 0-2200 strokes per minute (spm) for a smooth, efficient power transfer to the blade. The orbital blade speed selection adjusts with the rotation of a dial. For a variety of cuts, select one of 3 orbital blade actions: smooth, medium or fast. The electric brake stops the blade from orbiting once the trigger is released. The ergonomic "D" handle with soft grip, provides a secure grip on the tool. A lever-style, quick-clamp blade mechanism allows for fast, tool-less blade changes. The multi-positional, cast-aluminum base and solid steel shoe tilts 0-45 degrees both left and right of the blade. Additionally, a two-position dust blower removes debris from the work surface. This provides a clear sightline to the material being cut while the integrated LED work light illuminates the work surface and the material being cut. This Craftsman Professional Sabre saw is powered by a 20V Lithium-Ion battery featuring SmartChip technology. SmartChip technology maximizes the efficiency and lifecycle of the battery by monitoring and controlling the battery's output. SmartChip is built into the battery system to protect the battery from over discharge, overcharge, and overheating. An illuminated power bar displays the charge remaining in the battery pack for user awareness. Battery sold separately.
